Donate hot nutritious meals to homeless and at-risk children in our theatre and education program

Join with the Actors Theatre Workshop, an award-winning nonprofit that has helped thousands of homeless children for 22 years in our after-school drama and education program Builders of the New World.

Are you a Chef, Restaurant Owner, Manager, or Food Service Professional?

Please help us feed NYC homeless children in nine after-school classes starting May 2nd, 2017.

Your generous donation of delicious “CEO-level” meals will help our precious children to know that they are loved and valued by our community at a time of great instability in their young lives.

  • We need donations of 75 tasty and healthy meals (including a protein dish, vegetable, salad, starch and a dessert) to serve in each class.
  • Your delicious food will help create a warm, homelike atmosphere for our children, who will share a family-style meal in each class with volunteer mentors from leading NYC corporations.

HOW IT WORKS: Please contact us at inkind@actorstheatreworkshop.com or by phone at 212-947-1386 with the type of meals you can provide and the number of days you can contribute to this most worthy cause.

Our Spring Program begins Tuesday, May 2nd

  • Class Dates: Tuesdays, May 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, June 6, 13, 20 from 4:00 to 8:30 PM.
  • Final Event and Graduation Ceremony: Tuesday, June 27th.

OUR THANKS: You are an essential part of this long-running and successful community program!

  • In thanks for your generosity, we will promote your restaurant on our website, in newsletters we send to our 6000+ members, and on our social media outlets.
  • Your donation is tax-deductible.
  • You will be invited to the children’s celebratory final performance and graduation ceremony on June 27th, and your restaurant will be included as a sponsor in our program and promotional material.

The Actors Theatre Workshop is an award-winning non-profit theatre and educational institution founded in 1990 by Thurman E. Scott.
We help people from all walks of life achieve their potential through drama and education.

ATW’s Builders of the New World program provides homeless children with hot nutritious meals and life-changing classes.
The children develop a vision for a successful future and learn the life and educational choices to get there;
strengthen their reading, writing and presentation skills; and build crucial values of discipline and responsibility.

The Actors Theatre Workshop is partially funded by the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs.
All donations are tax-deductible.
