Volunteer in our Spring 2017
theatre and education program
for homeless and at-risk children

Join with The Actors Theatre Workshop and our community of diverse, creative talented people to help change the lives of children living in temporary housing facilities in our Spring 2017 Builders of the New World Program.

You will be trained by ATW’s Artistic Director and Founder Thurman E. Scott, and have the once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of our award-winning theatre and education program for precious 8 – 12 year old New York City children.

We want your time, your love, and your talents.
And our children need you here.

  • Complete this application and attend an Information and Training Session with ATW’s Artistic Director and Founder
  • Join the children on eight Tuesdays in May and June (plus two Saturday rehearsals!)
  • Cheer on the children at their final performance in June!

    Key Builders of the New World Dates:

    • Volunteer Training Sessions:
      A mandatory Information and Training Session/ for all BNW Volunteers led by ATW's artistic director and founder. A unique opportunity to learn the creative technique we teach the children, and gain tools to be an effective program member.

      • Thurs, May 11th from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

    • BNW After-School and Saturday Sessions with the children:

      • After-school Sessions every Tuesday afternoon from May 2nd until June 20th, from 4:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

      • Saturday rehearsals on June 17th and June 24th from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

    • BNW Graduation and Final Performance:
      Join together with the children’s family and friends, and community and business, government, education and artistic leaders to celebrate the children’s glorious accomplishments on Tuesday, June 27th.
