The Actors Theatre Workshop is an award-winning non-profit theatre located in the heart of Chelsea’s Garden district in New York City. With over 30 years of service as an organization, ATW proudly continues to be a resource for creatives and the community. You will feel the warmth, comfort, and sense of community that our facility provides as soon as you step off the elevator!
Our 5,000 sq. foot space offers multiple rental options, including a theatre, three adaptable studios, and a kitchen that can accommodate many different events and bookings, with WiFi provided and a variety of equipment that can be rented on an hourly basis. The transformable 60-seat theatre and venue, with its deep stage and gorgeous proscenium arch is ideal for full-scale productions, intimate plays and performances, video and photography shoots, film screenings, or experimental work. The theatre and studios are a tasteful atmosphere for business seminars, meetings, client workshops, rehearsals, and classes.
We know that you and your guests will feel more than welcome in our wonderful creative home. Added incentive: your rental dollars go directly to Builders of The New World, our award-winning after school program for homeless children and youth-at-risk.
Rental Rates & Highlights:
- Our rates vary based on how you use the studios
- Non-profits receive an automatic 10% discount; must present current status letter
- We offer discounted rates for daytime Classes and Rehearsals in Studio 1 and Studio 2
- For same-day rentals we offer 50% off our regular rates for Classes, Rehearsals and Meetings and there is a $5 administration fee

Notes for Productions, Staged Readings, and Video Shoots:
- All physical elements used onstage must be flameproof in accordance with FDNY requirements.
